At HATC, our work centers on housing, but we know that a stable home is only the beginning of a young person’s journey. The children and teenagers who live in our communities carry ambitions, questions, and potential that extend far beyond the walls of their homes. Like all young people, they are navigating school, friendships, career dreams, and the challenges of growing up. What many of them need, and what too few have consistent access to, is a mentor: a trusted adult outside their immediate family who believes in them, listens, and shows up. Our mentorship program is designed to bridge this gap by connecting young individuals with mentors who can provide guidance, support, and encouragement. Through regular meetings and activities, mentors help mentees build confidence, develop skills, and explore new opportunities.
As we continue to expand opportunities for youth across HATC communities, mentorship will play a key role in helping young people explore their potential and imagine new possibilities for their futures.
