APPLICATION OPENING


The HATC Foundation Scholarship Program

This program provides scholarship opportunities for graduating high school seniors currently residing in HATC affordable housing communities and Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) households. The HATC Foundation annually awards scholarships to deserving youth interested in enrolling in two-year or four-year programs at intuitions of higher learning for the Fall semester of the upcoming school year. The Foundation Scholarship can be used either to cover the full cost of a two-year degree, or as a $2,500 award towards a four-year degree. Scholarships are based on available funding. Students can now apply for scholarships beginning March 15, 2023. Scholarship applications and recommendation forms are due by July 31, 2023.

Southwest Regional Council NAHRO Scholarship Program

This program provides scholarship opportunities to families that reside in, work with, or who otherwise receive housing benefits from one of the member agencies of the Council. The SWRC NAHRO annually awards scholarships totaling more than $10,000.00. Scholarship awards are available to public housing residents, participants in rental assistance or similar programs, both heads of household and other family members, and children of staff working for a member agency. Scholarships are due on Friday, March 25, 2022. For more information visit Southwest Regional Council NAHRO’s website .


Texas NAHRO Scholarship Program

This program provides scholarships each year to deserving high school seniors, graduating in the Spring following the application’s deadline, and who are currently living with their families as Public Housing or Section 8 program residents. Available scholarships are: one (1) $2,500 Jim Hargrove Scholarship, and eight (8) $1,000 scholarships. This year’s scholarship is currently closed, next year’s opening is to be announced. For more information visit Texas NAHRO’s website.


Austin Community Foundation Scholarships

Austin Community Foundation offers more than 100 different scholarships for graduating high school, current college students, or continuing education students through their online application system. The eligibility criteria for each scholarship award varies and may include financial need, merit, geographic area or field of study. After completing the general application, each student is automatically matched with all of the awards for which they qualify. Students can apply for scholarships beginning February 14, 2022. Austin Community College (ACC) Career Scholars

Austin Community College (ACC) offers a new and all-inclusive scholarship program, Career Scholars, that provides full financial and academic support to students majoring in fields with high earning potential. ACC will cover the cost of tuition, fees, and books — a $5,000 value — and ensure you have guidance throughout your college journey. Career Scholars fall into two categories, graduating high school seniors and adult learners. The programs are slightly different, and so are the application steps. For priority consideration, please apply by May 31. For more information visit ACC’s website.


MexAustin IME Becas/Scholarships

This scholarships provides financial support for first-time college students who are Mexican/Latino immigrants and/or children of Mexican/Latino immigrants. Scholarship applications are due on Saturday, April 30, 2022. For more information visit MexAustin’s website .
